Ingredients
  

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 cup 2 sticks butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 3 cups rolled oats
  • 1 1/2 cups Nestle Toll House semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts optional

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line your baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • In a bowl, mix the flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
  • Beat the butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract together until creamy.
  • Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Gradually stir in the oats.
  • Mix in the chocolate chips and nuts if using.
  • Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto your prepared baking sheets, about 2 inches apart.
  • Bake for 12–14 minutes or until golden brown. Cool on the baking sheets for 2 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.

Notes

- If you prefer softer cookies, bake them for slightly less time.
- These cookies freeze well; just store them in a sealed bag in the freezer.
- You can substitute half of the butter for applesauce to create a healthier version.
