  • Pot for boiling pasta

Ingredients
  

  • 12 oz steak sirloin or flank steak
  • 8 oz spaghetti or linguine
  • 2 cups fresh basil leaves
  • 1/4 cup pine nuts
  • 1/2 cup olive oil
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions
 

  • Boil the pasta according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  • Season the steak with salt and pepper. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the steak for 4–5 minutes on each side, then remove and let it rest before slicing thinly.
  • In a blender or food processor, combine the basil, pine nuts, Parmesan, garlic, and olive oil. Blend until smooth. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Toss the cooked pasta with the fresh pesto sauce. Add the sliced steak on top and mix everything well.
  • Plate the pesto pasta and steak, garnishing with extra Parmesan if desired. Serve hot.

Notes

- You can substitute pine nuts with walnuts or almonds to create a different twist on the pesto.
