WHAT'S SPECIAL
Chicken Bone Broth Soup is known for its soothing, immune-boosting properties. This slow-cooked broth is packed with nutrients that support digestion, immunity, and hydration. Unlike regular chicken broth, bone broth is simmered for a long time to release collagen, amino acids, and minerals from the bones, making it an exceptionally healthy and nourishing soup.

Chicken Bone Broth Soup is a flavorful and nutrient-dense soup made by simmering chicken bones, vegetables, and herbs for hours. This cooking process extracts gelatin and collagen from the bones, providing essential nutrients that promote gut health, reduce inflammation, and support the immune system. Chicken bone broth is often used as a healing food, especially during cold and flu season, but it also serves as an excellent base for other soups and dishes.

Equipment

  • Large stockpot or slow cooker
  • Strainer
  • Knife and cutting board
  • Measuring cups and spoons

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs chicken bones carcass, wings, feet, or necks
  • 1 onion quartered
  • 2 carrots roughly chopped
  • 2 celery stalks roughly chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic smashed
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 1 bay leaf
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Water enough to cover the bones

Instructions

  • Place the chicken bones in a large stockpot or slow cooker. Add enough cold water to cover the bones and bring to a boil. Discard the water after boiling for 5 minutes, and rinse the bones.
  • Return the bones to the pot and add the onion, carrots, celery, garlic, bay leaf, and apple cider vinegar. Fill the pot with enough water to cover the bones.
  • Bring the mixture to a gentle boil, then reduce the heat and simmer on low for 6–8 hours, occasionally skimming off any foam or impurities.
  • After simmering, strain the broth through a fine-mesh strainer or cheesecloth. Discard the solids and reserve the clear broth.
  • Season the broth with salt and pepper to taste. Serve it hot as a nourishing soup or use it as a base for other recipes.

Notes

- Chicken feet are an excellent addition to this broth as they contain high levels of collagen.
- The broth can be stored in the fridge for up to a week or frozen for future use.
- Adding fresh herbs like thyme or parsley towards the end of the cooking process can enhance the flavor.
