Ingredients
  

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda

  • 1 cup 2 sticks unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups Nestle Toll House semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup white chocolate chips optional

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F. Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • In a large bowl, beat the butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract until creamy and well combined. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  • Gradually blend in the flour mixture. Stir in the chocolate chips and white chocolate chips if using.
  • Drop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheets. Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until the edges are firm and the centers are slightly soft.
  • Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a couple of minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
